Terraria Server on Ubuntu

• Download latest release of tshock (at time of writing, TShock.4.2.3.0720.zip). See full install docs, and tshock homepage for more details.
• Unzip into a subdir:

  $ unzip TShock.4.2.3.0720.zip -d <subdir>
  

• Install mono-complete on Ubuntu 14.04:

  $ sudo apt-get install mono-complete
  

• Start up a screen or tmux session to run the Terraria server in.
• Run ./<subdir>/TerrariaServer.exe. You'll see something like:

      TShock Notice: To become SuperAdmin, join the game and type /auth <authcode>
  

• Log into the server from your game machine, and join your server. Then enter:

      /auth <authcode>
      /user add <username> <password> superadmin
      /login <username> <password>
      /auth-verify
  

  This will set you up with a super admin account to control the server.
